Residents in Bronxville have reportedly been finding small dead animals - namely birds and squirrels - in village streets and yards in recent weeks.

It is unclear what is killing the animals, officials said, and there is nothing police or the Westchester County Department of Health can do to help, noting that rabies isn’t a concern in such small animals.

“Dead Animals stink and the odor is usually the sign there is possible a dead animal on your Bronxville premises,” according to Bronxville Wildlife Removal. “When an animal is sick or wounded, its first instinct is to find a place to hide. Where do they hide? Usually underneath your Bronxville home or in your attic and walls.”
